Wolves Release Blatchford

The Chicago Wolves have released defenseman BRETT BLATCHFORD from his Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).

BLATCHFORD appeared in two games with the Wolves after being signed on March 13. Prior to joining the Wolves, he completed his senior campaign with the University of Notre Dame and collected a career-high four goals, 19 points and 43 penalty minutes in 38 outings.

The 23-year-old blueliner posted a career-high 25 assists in 40 outings during his junior year in 2008-09. Overall, he collected 67 assists, 73 points and 101 penalty minutes in 153 contests spanning four season from 2006 to 2010.

Prior to attending Notre Dame, the Temperance, Mich., native spent three seasons with the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League, recording 73 assists, 81 points and 78 penalty minutes in 142 outings from 2003 to 2006.

The Wolves return to action on Wednesday when they visit Carver Arena to take on the Peoria Rivermen at 7 p.m.
