Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned defenseman Jaime Sifers to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Sifers, 27 (1/18/83), has been recalled by the Wild three times this season, appearing in 14 contests while averaging 12:59 in ice time without registering a point. He has tallied 16 points (5-11=16) and 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in 44 games with Houston this season. Sifers recorded two assists and 18 PIM in 23 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008-09. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound native of Stratford, Conn., played collegiately at the University of Vermont, where he was an ECAC Second All-Star Team selection in 2005.

The Aeros take the ice to kick off the season's final 3-in-3 next Friday against the Lake Erie Monsters. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. from Toyota Center before the team travels to Peoria for a pair of weekend games.
