Blues Assign Ian Cole To Peoria

ST. LOUIS (March 22, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed defensive prospect Ian Cole to an Amateur Tryout Contract. Cole will report to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Cole, 21, has spent the past three seasons at Notre Dame where he made 111 appearances for the Fighting Irish, collecting 17 goals and 48 assists for 65 points and 153 penalty minutes. Prior to his collegiate career, the Blues 1st round draft pick (18th overall) in 2007 spent two years with the United States National Team Developmental Program.

The 6-foot-1, 211-pound defenseman played in a total of 116 games while with the U.S. program amassing 39 points on 12 goals and 27 assists. In 2008, the Ann Arbor, Michigan native represented the United States at the World Junior Championships playing in six games and serving six penalty minutes.
