The Chicago Wolves have signed center BRENDAN YAREMA.
Last year, Yarema finished fourth on the Wolves with 16 goals and recorded 33 points in 63 games. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, native finished second on the club with 151 penalty minutes and third with a +10 plus/minus rating.
The un-drafted Yarema ranked second on the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League with a career-high 19 goals and shared fifth on the club with a career-most 35 points in 2002-03.
The 28-year-old forward ranked third in the AHL during the 2002 Calder Cup playoffs with nine goals in 14 games for the Houston Aeros. Yarema also earned the ECHL¹s 1997 Kelly Cup Championship with the South Carolina Stingrays.
Overall, Yarema has accumulated 62 goals, 64 assists, 126 points and 595 penalty minutes in 272 career AHL games with the St. John's Maple Leafs (1996-97), Kentucky Thoroughblades (1997-98), Aeros (2001-02), Mighty Ducks (2002-03) and Wolves (2003-04).
