Wolves Fall Just Shy of Steelheads

It was another divisional match-up at the Sudbury Arena Friday night when the Sudbury Wolves welcomed the Mississauga Steelheads. It was a tight match between the two squads however the Steelheads came out on top with a 3-2 victory.

The Wolves got off to a slow start in the first period but got a lucky break getting the first power play of the game. The Wolves found the back of the net first when PAVEL JENYS shot just beat JACOB BRENNAN. The Wolves led 1-0 after the opening frame.

The second period was a quick one with both teams exchanging goals on the power play. It was JACOB HARRIS putting the Wolves up 2-0 before SEAN DAY broke in alone beating TROY TIMPANO to cut the Wolves' lead in half.

Seconds into the third period BRYSON CIANFRONE scored to tie up the game for the Mississauga Steelheads. Midway through the frame NATHAN BASTIAN gave the Steelheads the go ahead goal. Despite heavy pressure at the end of the third the Wolves could not tie the game up. The Mississauga Steelheads defeated the Wolves by a final score of 3-2 with shots on goal 31-20 for the Steelheads.
