Iowa Wolves News Release

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (0-1) allowed the Salt Lake City Stars (1-0) to shoot 59.0% from the field for the game, dropping the team's home opener 138-103.

The loss ended a four-year streak of home-opening wins for the franchise.

Timberwolves affiliate Darius Johnson-Odom carried the team offensively, finishing with 27 points on 11-17 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-5 from the three-point line.

Canyon Barry, son of NBA great Rick Barry, finished with 18 points off the bench, including a perfect 3-of-3 from deep.

The Wolves got into a hole early, trailing 11-0 after just three minutes of play. The team would never recover and never led during tonight's contest.

Former Iowa Energy standout Willie Reed finished with a game-high 34 points for the Stars. Reed shot a highly-efficient 15-of-17 (88.2%) from the floor while notching his first double-double of the young NBA G League season. Five other players joined Reed in double figures for Salt Lake City, including a 24-point, five-rebound and seven-assist night from Isaiah Cousins.

Xavier Silas (15), Jonathan Stark (14) and L.G. Gill (10) joined the double-figure point club for the Wolves.

NBA veteran Hakim Warrick tallied seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds in the loss.

The Iowa Wolves return to action tomorrow night at Wells Fargo Arena to battle the Sioux Falls Skyforce (1-0) at 7:00 p.m.
