Salt Lake City Stars News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will begin the 2018-19 campaign tonight on the road at the Iowa Wolves, with tip-off set for 6 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast online via Facebook Live and can be viewed via the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page.

The Stars will return to Salt Lake City for their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. at Vivint Smart Home Arena, the home of the Utah Jazz. In addition to the home opener, the team will play two more games at Vivint Smart Home Arena this season: Dec. 13 vs. Northern Arizona and Feb. 8 vs. Santa Cruz.

The Stars are beginning their third season in Salt Lake City. Head Coach Martin Schiller returns for his second year at the helm, joined by assistant coaches Bryan Bailey, Nathan Peavy and Lowell Egan. The Stars' roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh, who appeared in 39 games with the Atlanta Hawks last season, and Naz Mitrou-Long, who played in one game with the Utah Jazz in 2017-18. As part of his two-way contract, Mitrou-Long has been transferred to the Utah Jazz and will not be with the Stars in Iowa for tonight's game.

The Stars will continue providing fun, family-friendly and affordable basketball for their fans throughout the season. The team will host numerous theme nights in 2018-19, including Wizard Night (Nov. 15), Princess Night (Dec. 15), Star Wars Night (Jan. 10), World Record Night (Jan. 25), Superhero Night (March 8) and Fairy Tale Night / Fan Appreciation Night (March 22). The Theme Night Mini-Plan, which includes tickets to those six nights, is on sale now and guarantees fans will receive that evening's giveaway item. Tickets start at $10 per ticket, and fans can log on to slcstars.com or call (801) 325-STAR (7827) for more information.
