Sudbury Wolves News Release
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves announce that they have traded 19-year-old defenceman Peter Stratis to the Sarnia Sting in exchange for Barrie's 4th round draft pick in 2021.
Stratis was previously acquired by the Wolves in a trade with the Ottawa 67's in 2018 and has since accumulated 37 points in 119 games as a member of the Wolves organization.
"We would like to thank Peter for the past two years," said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager Rob Papineau. "With the emergence of some of our other defencemen and the addition of Samuelsson this season, we felt we were able to make this trade. One of our objectives was to get back to seven rostered defencemen after this week was over and this trade accomplishes this goal. We want to wish Peter all the best with his future in Sarnia."
The Wolves will visit the Barrie Colts tonight at 7:30pm. Fans can tune into the live play-by-play on CKLU 96.7 and mixlr.com/sudburywolves. Fans can also watch on OHL Live and Eastlink Channel 10 and 610.
Tonight, fans can also come out to Overtime Sports Bar and Grill to join in on the SWSE Watch Party as both the Wolves and Sudbury Five take to the road. The party gets underway at 5:30pm and there will be lots of fun and prizes for fans in attendance. Overtime will also have special offers throughout the night.
The Wolves will then return home to host the North Bay Battalion and Mississauga Steelheads this weekend in double-header action on Friday and Sunday at the Sudbury Arena. Friday's game begins at 7:05pm and Sunday's game starts at 2:05pm. Tickets are on-sale now at greatersudbury.ca/tickets or sudburywolves.com.
