Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Newly-acquired forward Justyn Gurney notched two assists - his first career multi point game - backed by a 21-save outing from goaltender Dustin Wolf, which helped lift the Everett Silvertips over the Tri-City Americans, 4-1, before 5,618 at A.O.T.W. Arena on Saturday night in U.S. Division action.

The Silvertips have now earned a win or a point in 17 of 18 games as rookie-forward Jalen Price, captain Connor Dewar, six-foot-four forward Max Patterson and assistant captain Bryce Kindopp all deposited goals tonight as the Tips get a redemption win over the Americans, after a 3-2 loss in Kennewick on Friday.

"I thought our guys did a really good job out there tonight," Head Coach Dennis Williams said. "Especially after the long travel, getting back here today and getting reset and refocused."

UP NEXT: The Tips are back at home tomorrow at 4:05 against the Kamloops Blazers (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live), ending three games in three days. Doors open at 3pm for Undie Sunday benefiting Cocoon House and the Fred Meyer Food Drive, with the first 500 fans at the doors receiving a Tips Hat courtesy Buzz Inn Steakhouse. Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

Price put Everett up 1-0 at 5:46 in the first as he cashed in for his fourth goal on the season. Price received a centering pass from the near corner and powered a backhand shot past Americans' goaltender Beck Warm. Everett defenseman Gianni Fairbrother also received an assist on the play.

Everett's stingy defense held their opposition to only four shots on goal in the opening frame, while the Silvertips offense landed 18 shots on Warm.

Tri-City forward Sasha Mutala tied the game at 4:13 into the second period after he tapped in a wrap-around feed from winger Nolan Yaremko set up by winger Parker Aucion.

The Silvertips regained the lead at 18:11 into the second as Dewar hammered a one-timer off a three-on-one rush with a saucy assist from rookie-forward Gage Goncalves and winger Bryce Kindopp. Wolf opened the play up with a long stretch pass, which created the man-advantage rush.

The Tips tacked on another 12 shots on goal in the second, totaling 30 shots through two as the Americans have totaled 14 after two.

Everett added to their lead at 8:35 into the third as Patterson notched his 11th goal of the season. Gurney set the play up with an interception in the offensive zone and delivered a patient toe-drag feed to Patterson across the front of the crease.

Fairbrother and Yaremko dropped the gloves at 11:53, as Fairbrother stuck up for Gurney after taking a hit from Yaremko. Both received matching five-minute majors, and two-minute minors.

Kindopp potted an empty net goal at 19:19 into the third for his 19th goal on the season off an assist from newly acquired forward Zack Andrusiak and Wyatte Wylie.
