Cranbrook, B.C. - The Kootenay ICE (8-26-6-1) host the B.C. Division-leading Vancouver Giants (23-12-2-0) for the first time since January 2017 on Sunday, January 6.
Puck drop is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT.

The ICE are coming off of an 8-4 loss to the Spokane Chiefs on January 5. The ICE received goals from Cole Muir, Peyton Krebs, Owen Pederson and Zac Patrick. Jaeger White registered two assists in the game. ICE goaltender Jesse Makaj stopped 29-of-37 shots that came his way. The Chiefs received two goals from Jake McGrew while Luke Toporowski, Noah King, Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Ethan McIndoe, Luc Smith and Graham Sward scored the others. Both teams recorded 37 shots on net. The ICE went 1-for-4 on the power play, 1-for-2 on the penalty kill and won 26-of-60 face-offs.
The ICE have amassed 23 points this season, which is good for sixth in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
The ICE have a home record of 6-14-3-0.

The Vancouver Giants visit the Kootenay ICE for the first and only time this season on Sunday, January 6. Sunday's game marks the final one in a six-game Central Division road swing for the Giants. The Giants are 1-4-0-0 on the road trip so far. Following Sunday's game, the Giants return home and host Kamloops and Victoria on January 12 and January 13 respectively. Heading into Sunday's game, the Giants are first in the B.C. Division and third in the Western Conference.
