March 12, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack had an up-and-down week last week, but finished on a high note. The first two games of the four-game week ended in 4-1 losses, Wednesday at first-place Manchester and Friday in Worcester. The Pack rebounded, though, for a pair of home wins thereafter. They came back from a 2-0 deficit to post a 3-2 shootout win Saturday against Lowell, and then shut out DATTCO I-91 Challenge rival Springfield on Sunday by a score of 5-0. In that game, the Wolf Pack equaled franchise records for fewest shots-against (14) and most shorthanded goals (2). Jarkko Immonen totaled 3-2-5 in three games on the week, and Ryan Callahan's two goals in Sunday's game upped his total on the year to 35, tying Nigel Dawes' franchise rookie record, which he set last season. Al Montoya posted his fourth shutout of the campaign Sunday (14 saves), after upping his shootout record to 4-0 in Saturday's game (31 stops, 4/5 in the shootout).
