Walser Recalled By Columbus

Syracuse, NY (March 12, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Derrick Walser.

Walser, 28, has appeared in 41 games with Syracuse this season, recording 9 goals, 24 assists and 55 penalty minutes. He appeared in two games earlier this season with Columbus, without recording a point. In 326 career AHL games with Saint John, Syracuse and Albany, Walser has tallied 73 goals, 149 assists and 299 penalty minutes. A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Walser was acquired by Columbus from Carolina in exchange for Mark Flood on November 28, 2006.

The Crunch are in action on Tuesday, March 13 as they travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for a 7:05 p.m. match-up against the Penguins.
