
Jersey Auction Raises $34,260 For MDA

NORFOLK, VA - Thanks to the generosity of their fans, the Norfolk Admirals were able to raise $34,260 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Saturday night in their annual MDA Jersey Auction, presented by PAPCO.
Following Norfolk's game against Binghamton, the team auctioned off the players' game-worn jerseys to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hampton Roads. On Friday and Saturday night, the Admirals donned special black third jerseys with "ADMIRALS" running diagonally across the front. Saturday evening, the jerseys were auctioned off to the highest bidders at center ice. The highest winning bid went for the jersey of #3 David Koci, who made his NHL debut this evening with the Chicago Blackhawks in Phoenix. His jersey sold for $3,550. In total, 24 jerseys (including a team-autographed sweater) and a team-autographed stick were auctioned to benefit the MDA.

A team autographed jersey and hockey stick were also part of a silent auction that was going on throughout the game. Those two items sold for a combined total of $910.
The Admirals face off against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers next Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. at Scope.
