Wolf Pack Notch Another Home Win

The Hartford Wolf Pack notched win number nine in a row at home defeating the Lowell Lock Monsters 6-4 tonight at the Hartford Civic Center.

The Wolf Pack came back from a 3-0 first-period deficit to beat the Lock Monsters and improve their league-best home record to 21-3-0-1, going 15-1-0-1in their last 17 starts on home ice. Jed Ortmeyer recorded the team's first hat-trick at home, with three goals – one in the first period and two in the third.

Goaltender Steve Valiquette played 33:20 of shut-out hockey after replacing netminder Jason LaBarbera. Along with two previous back-to-back shut-out performances, Valiquette has now played 153:20 without allowing a goal.

The team's game versus the Lock Monsters tomorrow in Lowell has been postponed due to the winter storm conditions. A rematch date will be announced shortly. With the game postponement, the team embarks on a six game road swing starting Wednesday in Norfolk. The Wolf Pack will return to the Civic Center on February 12 when they face the Portland Pirates in a special fundraising night for the American Red Cross Tsunami Relief effort.
