
Bruins drop tough one in Springfield

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins and Springfield Falcons met in the seventh game of their 10-game season series on Saturday night in Springfield, with the Falcons scoring at 18:01 of the third period to take a 2-1 decision. The Bruins are in fifth place in the Atlantic Division with their 20-16-2-6 record.
Bruin left wing Andy Hilbert scored his 21st goal of the season in the first period. The goal was his second in as many nights, and the 85th of the career of the team's all-time leading goal scorer. Hilbert now ranks second in overall scoring, with 85-92-177 totals in 199 games.
Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced, and is 17-13-3.
The Bruins return home to host the Portland Pirates on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. Following Sunday's game, fans are invited to attend a free post-game autograph session. Goaltender Hannu Toivonen and defenseman Milan Jurcina will be available for autographs and pictures on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse behind Section 110.
