Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Wizards nearly spoiled a good pitching performance from Jeremy McBryde before rallying for three seventh inning runs, upending the Lansing Lugnuts 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Lansing lead the game 3-1 after six innings as Luis Perez allowed just a lone run on six hits in his start for the Lugnuts.

Michael Barbara was summoned into the game to throw the seventh, but promptly walked Danny Payne and gave up a hit to Adam Zornes to start the inning. Brad Chalk's bloop single into left scored Payne, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Lance Zawadzski followed that two batters later with a two-out, two-run double off of the wall in right-center that put the Wizards ahead 4-3.

McBryde was very effective for the Wizards in his start, as he allowed just three runs over seven innings. Only one of the runs was earned, and all of them scored in the fourth.

Justin Jackson became the first Lugnut to reach base in the game, as he got to first on a fielding error by Lance Zawadzki. Darin Mastroianni's bunt single put two men on for Jonathan Jaspe, who's double into left plated them both. The two-bagger put Lansing up 2-1. Manny Rodriguez capped the inning with an RBI double that scored Jaspe, extending Lansing's lead to 3-1.

McBryde (7-8) would settle down after that as he struck out 11 batters in the game. The Lugnuts only had two baserunners in the entire contest outside of the fourth frame.

Barbara (1-4) took the loss after giving up the three runs in the seventh. He did stay in to toss a perfect eighth.

Jackson Quezada picked up his 25th save of the year by holding the Lugnuts to a lone hit in the ninth.

Lansing (70-56, 31-25) and Fort Wayne (64-62, 27-29) will continue the eight-game stretch against each other Tuesday night as the series shifts to Lansing's Oldsmobile Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
