Wisconsin Herd Qualifies for First-Ever Showcase Tournament

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - As announced by the NBA G League, the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, comprised an 11-1 record through the team's first 12 regular-season games and qualified for the first-ever MGM Resorts NBA G League Winter Showcase tournament. Under the new format, the top four teams will compete in the championship bracket, while the remaining 24 will be placed in six four-team pods. The winning team in the championship bracket will receive $100,000.
In Game 1 of the championship bracket, the Herd, who locked up the No. 2 seed, will take on the No. 3 seed Salt Lake City Stars who totaled a 10-2 record. The Memphis Hustle and Grand Rapids Drive round out the field as the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds. Wisconsin's game against the Stars is scheduled for Friday, December 20, at 8 p.m. CT inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com.
With a win Friday night, the Herd will advance to the championship game on Sunday, December 22 and play the winner of Memphis and Grand Rapids. The championship game will tip off at 6 p.m. CT and will air on ESPN2. The consolation game between the third and fourth place teams will follow the championship game at 8 p.m. CT on NBAGLeague.com.
