Wisconsin Herd Loses Battle Versus Windy City

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, loses first game of the season from a buzzer-beater by the Windy City Bulls. Scottie Lindsey made a three-point shot with two seconds left to win the game for the Windy City Bulls, 102-101.

During the fourth quarter, the Herd and Bulls exchanged baskets keeping the Herd at a 10-point lead. Until five minutes left, the Bulls hit a three to lower the Herd lead to nine points, 86-95. The Bulls cut the Herd lead down to one, 98-97. The Herd missed four free throws in the last 15 seconds. With 10 seconds left the Herd led 101-99. With two seconds left in the game, Scottie Lindsey made a three-point shot to win the game for the Bulls 102-101.

Terry Larrier led the Herd with a season-high 24 points and 6 rebounds. Tremont Waters followed with 19 points and 2 rebounds. Javin DeLaurier added 11 rebounds and Wenyen Gabriel added 10 rebounds. The Herd had no assignment players or two-way players, Jaylen Lecque did not play and Jemerrio Jones left the game with 7 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Herd hit a season-low with 101 final points.

The Windy City Bulls were led by Tyler Cook with 32 points and 6 rebounds. Devon Dotson followed with 22 points and 9 rebounds.

The Herd came out with four turnovers in the first four minutes of the game resulting in seven points for the Windy City Bulls but quickly turned around when Michael Gilmore dunked to take the lead for the first time, 18-16. With three minutes left in the first quarter, Larrier made a fade-away shot to put the Herd up 22-20. The Herd held the lead for the rest of the game until the last-minute shot by the Bulls.

In the second quarter, the Wisconsin Herd shot 20.8% in field goals and 18.2% from the three-pointers. The Windy City Bulls shot 34.8% for field goals and 14.2% from the three-point line. The Herd led in free throw percentage shooting 85.7% while the Bulls shot 0%.

Tremont Waters came out strong in the second half scoring seven points in the first six minutes. Terry Larrier kept the Herd in the lead scoring ten points in the third quarter.

The Wisconsin Herd shot 39.6% from field goals and 27.3% from the three-point line. The Windy City Bulls shot 50% in field goals and 32.3% in three-pointers. The Herd had 20 turnovers resulting in 28 points for the Bulls. The Bulls outscored the Herd in points in the paint, 50-46. The Herd outscored the Bulls in second-chance points, 10-6, and fast-break points 13-10.

The Wisconsin Herd will play away on Friday night against the Grand Rapids Gold with tip-off at 6 p.m. CST.
