
Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Go-Go Past Skyhawks

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Capital City Go-Go (5-3), the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, defeated the College Park Skyhawks (0-6) for the second-consecutive game, 113-107, on Tuesday night at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
In the first quarter, eight different Go-Go players scored a basket, as they raced out to a 12-point advantage by the end of the frame. Capital City was able to push its lead to as many as 18 in the second quarter, the biggest lead of the night, but College Park used a late run to trail by only one at the break.
The Go-Go's defense became the star in the third quarter, as they held College Park to 5-20 shooting from the field, while also forcing seven turnovers, to push its lead back to double-figures. Capital City never led by less than six points throughout the entire fourth quarter, as they stayed perfect at home on the season.
The Go-Go never trailed in the game, as they were led by Jaime Echenique's 21 points and eight rebounds. Cassius Winston (15 points and five assists) and Greg Monroe (12 points and seven rebounds) led the bench effort that outscored College Park's 45-24, with four-of-five reserve players finishing +14-or-better. Joel Ayayi (17), Jordan Goodwin (13) and Isaiah Todd (12) all finished with double-figure scoring efforts in the win as well.
Capital City also shot .506 (43-85) from the field, outscoring College Park 68-48 in the paint in the process. The 68 points in the paint were also a season high for the Go-Go.
College Park was led by the trio of Malik Ellison (game-high 26 points), Jalen Johnson (24 points) and Justin Tillman (22 points, 10 rebounds), who accounted for 72 of the team's 107 points.
The Go-Go will head north of the border this weekend, as they begin a two-game series with Raptors 904 on Saturday, December 4 in Mississauga. The Skyhawks head to Westchester for a back-to-back with the Knicks beginning on Thursday, December 2.
