Wingnuts Add Former Shocker to Bullpen

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts signed former Wichita State University Shocker Clint McKeever on Thursday afternoon.

McKeever just finished a four-year career at Wichita State in which he served as both a first baseman and pitcher. A native of Oklahoma City, OK, McKeever hit a combined .314 for the Shockers from 2007-10 with 13 home runs and 102 RBI in 156 games played. As a pitcher, McKeever posted a 2.66 ERA in 20.1 IP with 23 strikeouts and one save.

McKeever is the seventh former Shocker to play for the Wingnuts. In a corresponding move, the Wingnuts also released right-handed pitcher Matt Petty.

The Wingnuts finish their series tonight with Fort Worth with Luke Massetti taking the ball in the rubber game against left-hander Tim Bittner. For tickets, call the Wingnuts' office at (316) 264-NUTS.
