El Paso 11, Grand Prairie 3

The El Paso Diablos scored six runs in the top of the first inning to take a commanding 6-0 lead and would cruise from there to an 11-3 win over the Grand Prairie AirHogs. Diablos DH Kyle Nichols went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI. Nichols chipped in with a first inning grand slam, his sixth home run of the year. C Adam Deleo, 1B Bryon Smith and CF Jeff Vincent each had two-hit games for El Paso as well. Diablos starting pitcher Shaun Ellis notched his seventh victory of the year allowing three earned runs on four hits in five innings of work. AirHogs 3B Juan Camacho went 3-for-5 with a run scored in the losing effort.

Pensacola 12, Shreveport-Bossier 3

The Pensacola offense racked up 18 hits en route to an easy win against Shreveport-Bossier. Every hitter except one in the Pelicans lineup at least one hit and seven had multi-hit games. Pensacola CF Francisco Leandro was the star at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and five RBI. Pelicans 1B Javier Brito hit a pair of homers in a 2-for-5 effort in which he drove in three. Starting pitcher David Nathanson allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out three in seven innings to earn the win, his second this season.

Lincoln 4, Sioux Falls 3 (10 innings - Completion of suspended game from June 22)

Lincoln picked up the completion of the suspended game from a day before by plating a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to come away with the 4-3 win. Saltdogs CF Gavin Dickey was 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to lead the way at the plate. Saltdogs reliever Adam Daniels struck out five of the six batters he faced over two innings to earn the win, his fourth of the season. Sioux Falls CF Reggie Abercrombie was 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in the losing effort.

Lincoln 7, Sioux Falls 6 (Regularly scheduled game)

Lincoln scored three times in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead and never trailed on the way to a 7-6 win at home. CF Gavin Dickey, LF Argelis Nunez and 3B Juan Richardson each homered for Lincoln to lead the way offensively. The trio combined to go 7-for-13 with five runs scored and five RBI. Lincoln starting pitcher Chris Britton allowed six runs on nine hits while striking out seven over six innings, but held on to earn the win, his fourth of the season. Saltdogs closer Chris Thompson recorded the last two outs in the ninth to earn his 13th save.

Sioux City 5, St. Paul 4

St. Paul out-hit Sioux City 14-5, but it wasn't enough in the end as the Explorers squeezed by St. Paul. Sioux City SS Darrick Hale and C Kent Sakamoto each drove in a pair and combined to go 2-for-6 to lead the way offensively. Explorers starting pitcher Jayson Miller allowed two runs on 11 hits while striking out five in 5.2 innings to earn the win, his first of the season.

Wichita 4, Fort Worth 1

Wichita LF Steve Pearson went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI to lead the Wingnuts to a 4-1 win against Fort Worth. Wichita starting pitcher Gabe Medina allowed one run on five hits while striking out five over eight innings to earn the win, his first of the season. Wingnuts closer Justin Dowdy fanned a pair in a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his seventh save.
