Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release

SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport-Bossier Captains game against the El Paso Diablos scheduled for Thursday, June 24, has been postponed due to heavy rains earlier in the day at Fair Grounds Field. The Captains' grounds crew worked for several hours throughout the afternoon to try to make the field playable for game but were unable to do so.

The two teams will start their three-game series with a doubleheader starting at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, June 24. Both games will be seven innings as per American Association rules.

Fans with tickets to the June 24 game can use their tickets for the doubleheader, but must exchange them for a June 25 ticket.

The first game of the twinbill will still be 99X Thirsty Thursday, with discounted beverages throughout the game, and Sports World Shirt off Our Back Night. The second game will be Willis-Knighton Turn Back the Clock Night, as the Captains will don the old Shreveport Captains uniforms.

Friday is also KMSS FOX 33 Night of Giving, with discounted tickets available for donations to the Food Bank or Lifeshare Blood Center.

This is the first rainout of the season for the Captains.

All games are broadcast on ESPN Radio, KRMD-1340 AM as well as streaming live on supertalk1340.com. For information on tickets, promotions, advertising, and other opportunities with the Captains, check out the team's Web site at www.sbcaptains.com, or call the Fair Grounds Field office at (318) 636-5555.
