June 10, 2013 - American Association (AA)
Laredo Lemurs News Release
The Laredo Lemurs only needed two runs to come up with a win over the Amarillo Sox, thanks to great pitching across the board. Fabian Williamson threw six shutout innings and struck out five to get his second win of the season. He allowed just three hits and two walks.
Mark Haynes threw a perfect inning in relief and struck out one, while Bradley Blanks let up the only Sox run but still managed to hold on and preserve the win for his third save of the season.
CF Sawyer Carroll and 1B Mike Sheridan paced the offense for Laredo. Carroll went 2-4 and scored a run, while Sheridan went 2-4 with an RBI. Both players doubled on the night.
The Lemurs will now hit the road for a two game set in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Laredo 7, Amarillo 8 (Final in 14 innings)
The Laredo Lemurs and Amarillo Sox continued their game from last night starting at 6pm on Sunday. The top of the fourteenth inning saw Cory Patton pick up a one out double followed by a Trey Ford two out double to bring in the go ahead run and lead the Sox to a 5-4 win over the Lemurs.
The previouse night, due to the curfew rule, the Laredo Lemurs game with the Amarillo Sox was suspended after the 13th inning. CF Sawyer Carroll has an impressive game going as he was 5-for-6 with four RBI and a pair of runs. 3B John Allen also had a big night as he added four hits in seven at bats and two RBI. The Lemurs held a three-run lead going into the ninth inning but three consecutive RBI singles from CF Jason Martin, RF Chris Valencia and C Chris Grossman tied up the score. Grossman has a team-high three hits and two RBI. Both Valencia and LF David Peralta had two hits in the game. Valencia added an RBI.
Single game tickets, season tickets, suite rentals, and group packages are on sale now. For more information, call the Lemurs' office at 956-7LEMURS or visit the Lemurs' official website.
