Serrano's Contract Sold to Diamondbacks

LAREDO, TX - Laredo Lemurs right handed starting pitcher Mark Serrano has been acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks and will head to their Double-A affiliate in Mobile, Alabama.

With the Lemurs Serrano compiled a 4-1 record, with a 2.41 ERA, throwing 37.1 innings, giving up 13 runs, on 31 hits, with 27 strikeouts, and only six walks.

Serrano's best outing in a Lemurs uniform came on Monday, June 3rd, as he went five and a third, before giving up the first hit of the game to the Grand Prairie AirHogs. At the end of the night Serrano had thrown eight and two thirds, giving up one run, on two hits, with two walks, and nine strikeouts, earning his fourth win of the season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have now picked up three Laredo Lemurs pitchers over the last year. After the 2012 season the Diamondbacks acquired Lemurs left handed starter Matt Way and right handed relief pitcher Chaz Roe.

Matt Way is currently with the Long Island Ducks in the independent Atlantic League. Chaz Roe is with the Arizona Diamondback Triple-A affiliate in Reno, Nevada. Roe has thrown one inning with the Reno Aces picking up his first save with the team while striking out a batter.
