Frisco RoughRiders News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (July 20, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders defeated the San Antonio Missions in comeback fashion, 4-3, on Monday night at Wolff Stadium. Trever Adams tied the game with a two-run, eighth inning home run and Nick Williams hit a go-ahead blast in the ninth to finish off the Missions.

Trailing 3-1 in the top of the eighth inning, Adams knocked a two-run homer to tie the contest for the Riders. Williams' 12th long ball of the season, an opposite shot to left field, put Frisco ahead in the final frame and David Martinez retired the final two Missions in the ninth to complete the comeback bid.

Diego Goris led off the fifth for San Antonio with a single and rounded the bases on a Luis Domoromo triple. Domoromo then scored off the bat of Alberth Martinez to put the missions on top 3-0. A walk to Hunter Renfroe ended Victor Payano's day on the mound after four-plus innings.

Frisco cut into the Missions lead in the sixth frame. The Riders loaded the bases with no out thanks to two walks and a hit batter. Williams crossed the plate on an Adams sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 San Antonio. Dennis O'Grady's day came to an end after 5 1/3 innings. He allowed only one run on three hits while striking out five.

Alberth Martinez knocked a run-scoring single in the third frame to get the scoring started for the Missions. Martinez, who had not recorded an RBI since July 3, picked up two in the contest.

Andrew Faulkner (7-4) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out two to pick up the win for Frisco. David Martinez picked up his Texas League-leading 12th save. Tayron Guerrero (1-5), who gave up the ninth inning homer, dropped the decision for San Antonio as the Riders came back from a three-run deficit to win 4-3.

Frisco send RHP Jose Leclerc to the mound in game three of the series Tuesday. San Antonio counters with RHP Elliot Morris at 7:05 p.m. Frisco returns to Dr Pepper Ballpark July 23 for a seven game home stand against Corpus Christi and Midland.
