
Wild Things Win Final Game of Season 8-5

Washington, PA -- The Washington Wild Things completed their 2009 season with an 8-5 victory over the Florence Freedom, the first time in Washington's history they've won their final game of the season.
The afternoon became a slug fest with six home runs between the two teams.
Justin Pickett smacked s solo homer to give Florence their only lead of the game. Picket hit a second home run- a three run shot - in the sixth inning.
Billy Mottram also hit a home run for the Freedom in the eighth inning.
Washington's Matt Sutton had two home runs in the game, a solo shot in the fourth and a two run shot in the seventh. Grant Psomas hit a three run bomb in the sixth inning. Alan Robbins had a two RBI triple.
Craig Snipp (3-4) got the victory for Washington, allowing four runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out five in five innings on the hill. Jason Neitz and Mike Lucas, who got his first save of the season, pitched in relief.
First baseman Grant Psomas and short stop Brett Grandstrand retired from Frontier League baseball at the conclusion of the game. Both were honored during a plaque presentation prior to the game.
