Schaumburg, IL - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, fell to the Boomers 2-1 Sunday afternoon. The game was similar to each of the games between the two clubs over the weekend, with a one run difference.
Washington's lone score cam when Mark Samuelson doubled to drive in Jovan Rosa.
Starting pitcher Shawn Blackwell took the loss for Washington despite his good performance. The right-hander allowed only two runs on three hits and struck out five in his six innings of work.
The Wild Things will take the bus from Schaumurg to Rockford Illinois where they will meet the Aviators for a game on Tuesday. Justin Hall is scheduled to start for Washington. Airtime on WJPA 95.3 FM is 7:55 p.m. EDT. The Wild Things return to CONSOL Energy Park on Friday when they will host the Southern Illinois Miners for Washington's Opening Weekend. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park Box office.
