
Wild Things Defeat Beach Bums 2-1

Traverse City, MI - The Washington Wild Things (14-18), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Traverse City Beach Bum 2-1 at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City Thursday night.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when Robby Alcombrack scored for Traverse City on a Scott Billak suicide squeeze. Washington's Matt Sutton answered in the top of the seventh with a solo homerun to tie the score.
A combination of two errors in the same play brought Kris Rochelle to the plate to give Washington a one run lead in the eighth inning.
Jason Neitz (4-1) gets the win for Washington, allowing just one unearned run runs on two hits, striking out four in nine innings.
The Wild Things and Beach Bums meet for the third game of this three game set Friday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 EDT. Air time on WJPA 95.3 F.M. is 6:55. Washington is scheduled to return to CONSOL Energy Park on Tuesday, June 30th when they'll begin to celebrate the July 4th weekend early by saluting home town heroes and offering picnic and ticketing specials.
