
Mike Goetz Announces Reitrement

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Rockford RiverHawks outfielder Mike Goetz announced his retirement from professional baseball on Thursday.
Goetz batted in the leadoff spot in the RiverHawks lineup for most of the 2009 season thus far. This season Goetz batted .230 with no home runs and 12 RBI. He also had eight stolen bases.
Goetz spent three seasons in professional baseball prior to 2009. The Milwaukee Brewers first drafted him in 2006. Last year Goetz played for the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League before he was signed midseason by the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Class A Carolina League in the Pirates farm system.
