Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA -- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Chillicothe Paints 13-6 at CONSOL Energy Park Sunday night.
The Wild Things wasted no time when Jacob Dempsey, Nathan Messner, Chris Raber, and Josh Eachues each scored a run in the first inning.
Washington blew the game open in the sixth inning with seven runs scored.
Nathan Messner crushed his sixth home run of the season in the third inning, and Josh Eachues led the team with five RBI.
Starting pitcher Jim Wladyka had a strong debut, pitching four and two-thirds innings, allowing no runs with three strikeouts and three walks. Matt Restivo, earned the win for Washington, his first of the season.
The Wild Things and Paints meet for game two of the series Monday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Air time on WJPA 95.3 FM is 6:55 p.m. Monday is Paw Patrol Night. Kids run the bases after the game. Tickets are available at the CONSOLl Energy Park Box Office.
