Springfield, MO - Mike Antico scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Springfield Cardinals defeated the Arkansas Travelers, 5-4 on Thursday night. The game was a back and forth affair featuring three blown leads from the sixth inning on. The Travs posted 12 hits on the night, at least one in every inning but hit into three double plays and stranded nine men on the bases. Starter Prelander Berroa struck out eight over four innings giving up just one run. Jordan Walker erased a Travs lead in consecutive innings with a solo home run in the sixth to tie the score and then a two-run shot an inning later to put erase a one-run Traveler advantage and put the Cards on top.
Moments That Mattered
* Down a run in the eighth, Jake Anchia delivered a sacrifice fly to score Zach DeLoach with the tying run.
* Pinch-hitting to open the ninth, Anticio doubled off Isaiah Campbell. He was bunted to third and then scored when the 0-2 pitch to Matt Koperniak bounced in the dirt and got away.
