
Wild game ends in Otters win

Rickey Clinton hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth inning, capping off a wild night of baseball at Bosse Field that saw the Evansville Otters defeat the Ohio Valley Redcoats 6-3.
Ohio Valley started the game off by scoring a run off Brian Kroll in the first. Evansville would tie the game on a homerun by Jeff Goldbach in the fourth. For Goldbach, it was his 16th of the season, placing him just two behind Brian Foster for the single season team record.
Evansville took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jeff Goldbach doubled, followed by a Beau Blacken walk. Trask Munoz grounded out, moving the runners to second and third. Mike Spry walked to load the bases and Josh Stewart doubled to score two runs and move Spry to third. Clinton then hit a sacrifice fly to give the Otters the three run lead.
The Redcoats came back with two in the top of the seventh. With Spry on third after a single, stolen base and a groundout, Clinton deposited his sixth homerun of the season over the leftfield fence for a 6-3 Evansville lead.
Brian Kroll (6-4) won the game for Evansville. Ryan Burnau picked up his eleventh save with a perfect ninth. Luke Adkins (7-7) took the loss.
The Otters now head to Washington, PA to start a six game roadtrip. Ben Foster (8-4) will start for Evansville. Matt Brumit (6-1) will go for Washington. Game time is 5:35 p.m. CST and can be heard on 91.5, WUEV.
