Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash,. / Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced on Wednesday a series of changes to the 2021-22 WHL Western Conference Regular Season Schedule, including multiple changes impacting the Spokane Chiefs.
Due to ongoing border restrictions preventing non-essential bus travel from Canada to the U.S., WHL Clubs in the U.S. Division will compete exclusively against U.S. Division opponents during the month of October.
The Chiefs' home schedule experienced the following changes:
Removal of home games on: October 16, October 19, December 28
Addition of home games on: October 3, November 6, December 30
A fully updated schedule, including home and away games, is available at spokanechiefs.com/schedule.
The Chiefs' promotional schedule will also soon be updated to reflect the changes, notably to adjust for the removal of the October 16 home game previously scheduled as the annual Leinenkugel's Hocktoberfest.
Spokane will open their regular season schedule on Saturday, October 2 versus the Tri-City Americans.
The WHL continues to work with government and public health authorities in each of the six provincial and state jurisdictions located in WHL territory to ensure the health and safety of WHL players, staff, and officials, as well as the communities in which the WHL operates.
