COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Jordan Lennerton provided the offense and Casey Crosby was tremendous on the mound as the West Michigan Whitecaps downed the Dayton Dragons, 5-1, on Saturday night at Fifth Third Ballpark. Lennerton provided 3 runs-batted-in, and Crosby tossed 6 innings of one-run ball.

Looking for his seventh win, Casey Crosby took the mound in game one of the series and threw well. He scattered 5 hits with just 1 walk and 2 strikeouts for the win.

The Dragons scored first on Andrew Means' second home run of the season.

West Michigan tied the game at one on Mike Konstanty's two-base error in the second that allowed Jordan Lennerton to score.

Consecutive sacrifice flies from ‘Caps' hitters Billy Nowlin and Lennerton pushed the Whitecaps' lead to 3-1.

The game would stay at that score until the bottom of the eighth. A one-out double for Bryan Pounds put him aboard as Lennerton launched his team-leading eighth home run over the center field wall for a 5-1 Whitecaps' advantage.

Rob Waite and Nick Cassavechia combined to throw 3.1 innings of one-hit, shutout relief to preserve the win. Cassavechia picks up his first save.

Four errors by the Dragons helped the Whitecaps grab the victory.

Game two of the series is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark. West Michigan will send RHP Brandon Hamilton to the mound, and Dayton will counter with RHP J. C. Sulbaran.
