
Whitecaps FC to Host Charity Alumni Match on September

VANCOUVER, BC- Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Friday that the club will host its second annual alumni match at BC Place on Saturday, September 24 from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. PT.The charity match, in support of 'Caps community partner BC Children's Hospital, will take place prior to the MLS match against Colorado Rapids set to kick off at 4 p.m. PT.
Whitecaps FC are pleased to welcome back alumni from all eras of the club's 42-year history for this special event, including the club's first-ever MLS signing and captain, Jay DeMerit, South Korean legend Young-Pyo Lee, current U-15 Residency head coach Robert Earnshaw, and fan favourite Andy O'Brien.
"We can't wait to welcome back our past players from all eras of the club for this alumni match," said Whitecaps FC president and alumni, Bob Lenarduzzi. "This will be a great opportunity for our fans to cheer on and celebrate 42 years of professional soccer in Vancouver, while donating to an incredible cause - BC Children's Hospital."
Only 1,000 tickets will be released for the alumni match and will be available for purchase for $5, with all proceeds donated to BC Children's Hospital. To purchase a ticket for the alumni match, fans must also have or purchase a ticket for the evening's MLS match.
Season ticket members and fans who already have a ticket for the MLS match can purchase tickets online HERE. Fans who do not yet have a ticket for the MLS match and would like to attend both matches can purchase tickets online HERE.
2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Vancouver 86ers. To celebrate, this year's alumni match will feature former Whitecaps FC players up against former 86ers players.

All tickets for the alumni match are general admission in sections 212 to 216. Fans can enter BC Place through Gate A beginning at 1:15 p.m. PT with the match kicking off at 1:45 p.m. PT.
A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase at the Gate A box office beginning at 12:15 p.m. PT. A valid ticket for the afternoon's MLS match must be presented to enter the alumni match. No in-and-outs will be permitted between the alumni match and the MLS match.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment!
