Club de Foot Montreal News Release

CHESTER, Pennsylvania - The Montreal Impact goes back on the road this weekend and will play the Philadelphia Union this Saturday night at 7pm at Talen Energy Stadium (pregame show at 6:30pm on TVA Sports 2 & TSN Radio 690).

"We have to bounce back after Wednesday's game," said Impact head coach Mauro Biello. "Now, it's about finding that balance, and understanding that the approach to every game is important. Philadelphia has good players that can create problems for the opposition. I know that we can deliver the performance that we need."

Impact feeling good on the road in 2016 Now 13 games into its 17-game regular season road schedule, the Impact only needs a point to tie its record single-season points tally. After a historic win in Toronto on September 27, the Bleu-blanc-noir has now left away stadiums with 15 points in the bag; the record established in 2013 and matched in 2015 stands at 16 points (4-9-4).

"Every game is like a final," said team captain Patrice Bernier. "We know that we've gotten good results away from home. Every game is crucial. We're going to Philadelphia looking to get the win and move up in the standings."

Nacho Piatti, the fourth-top scorer in MLS with 14 tallies, has been crucial to these road successes. Piatti has scored nine goals, including three game-winners, and notched an assist in 12 away appearances. This road goal tally is currently the best in MLS; Giovani Dos Santos has scored eight, followed by three other players with seven. Moreover, Piatti could reach 5,000 career minutes played in MLS this Saturday, should he play a full 90 in Chester.

Head coach Mauro Biello will be forced into making a first change in front of goal this season as Evan Bush, who started the last 35 regular season games for Montreal in MLS, was sent off against Orlando last Wednesday.

Philadelphia looking to get one back on Impact

On its last trip to Montreal, on July 23, the Union suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat. A Didier Drogba hat-trick and late goals from Nacho Piatti and Matteo Mancosu overcame Jim Curtin's men, who have posted a 3-3-1 record since. The Union currently sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with a three-point cushion over the Impact, which has played one fewer game.

"Everyone can reach the playoffs, and everyone can stumble," said Hassoun Camara. "The standings are tight. Games are tough. We'll do everything to be well focused. We're going to Philadelphia with a one-game-at-a-time mentality, with the intention to win."

The Bleu-blanc-noir will be shooting for a first-ever win at Talen Energy Stadium, where its record stands at two defeats and three ties - including a crazy 2-2 decision where both teams got a player sent off when the Impact last travelled to Chester.

Didier Drogba and Nacho Piatti have done well in three career games against the Union: Drogba has scored four goals, while Piatti has registered two goals and two assists.

The Union boasts an almost clean bill of health. Ahead of Saturday's game, Jim Curtin has only ruled out Maurice Edu, who has returned to the field with the reserve team after recovering from a tibia stress fracture. But Curtin remains cautious and will not rush the midfielder back into the first team.

Following game The Impact's next game at Stade Saputo will take place on Saturday, September 17, at 7:30pm against the New England Revolution (RDS, TSN, 985sports.ca & TSN Radio 690). Excellent individual tickets are still available for this game on fd4b1b4a572fa3e0eb2d22bc3 impactmontreal.com.
