Whitecaps FC Receives $50,000 in GAM from Charlotte FC in Exchange for MLS Homegrown Territory Exclusivity over Midfielder Brandon Cambridge

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that the club has received $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Charlotte FC in exchange for MLS Homegrown Territory Exclusivity over midfielder Brandon Cambridge. As part of the trade, Vancouver could receive an additional $100,000 in GAM if Cambridge meets certain performance incentives. In addition, the 'Caps retain a percentage of any future transfer Charlotte receives for Cambridge.

Cambridge, 20, originally joined Whitecaps FC's BMO MLS academy in 2017, spending time with the club's U-17, U-19 and U-23 teams before committing to the University of Portland men's soccer program in July 2020. A product of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Cambridge was born in New York City, New York.

TRANSACTION: On December 21, Whitecaps FC acquires $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from Charlotte FC in exchange for MLS Homegrown Territory Exclusivity over midfielder Brandon Cambridge.
