Whitecaps FC Acquire $150,000 in Targeted Allocation Money from Chicago Fire for Tony Tchani

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that the club has acquired $150,000 in 2018 Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) from Chicago Fire in exchange for midfielder Tony Tchani.

"We are thankful to Tony for his time in Vancouver and wish him all the best with Chicago," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. "This move will give us additional roster flexibility."

The move comes just ahead of the MLS Roster Compliance deadline this Thursday, as the 'Caps continue to make their final preparations for Sunday's MLS regular season opener against Montreal Impact at BC Place.

Originally acquired in March 2017, Tchani made 28 starts and 30 appearances across all official competitions for Whitecaps FC, registering four goals and one assist.
