
Wheeling Nailers Announce Sale of Commemorative T-Shirts

Wheeling, WV â The Wheeling Nailers have announced today that they have designed and will sell a "John Brophy 1,000 Victory" commemorative T-shirt.
All proceeds of the T-shirt sale will benefit the Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids. The Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids, through the Ohio Valley Community Foundation provides free tickets to organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, St. Michael's Parish, Youth Services of Ohio County, and Wheeling Middle School.
On Sunday March 30, 2002 Coach Brophy and the Wheeling Nailers defeated the Dayton Bomers 3-0. With that victory, John Brophy marked his 1,000th career victory in professional hockey and became the second winningest coach only to former Detroit's bench minder Scotty Bowman. With Bowman's recent retirement, John Brophy is the winningest active coach in professional hockey.
The cost of the T-shirt(s) will be $20.00 per shirt or $25.00 for a shirt autographed by Head Coach John Brophy. The Wheeling Nailers open their home season on Sunday October 13, 2002 when they host the Cincinnati Cyclones at 6 pm in the Wheeling Civic Center. Full and Partial Season Ticket Plans are now on sale through the Wheeling Nailers Office.
