Bakersfield, CA - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have announced their final schedule for the upcoming 2002-03 season.
The Condors open the season at home against the Fresno Falcons on October 12th and conclude against the Idaho Steelheads on April 5th, 2003. All six teams in the league will play a balanced, 72-game regular season schedule, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs. The Condors will also host Fresno in a preseason game at on October 5th.
The schedule replaces a previous version that was published on July 22nd. The adjustments mostly affect the road schedule for the Condors. Only a couple alterations were made to the home schedule, mostly regarding opponents.
The Condors will play 36 games at Centennial Garden and 36 games on the road. Bakersfield plays the Anchorage Aces, Idaho Steelheads, Long Beach Ice Dogs and San Diego Gulls 14 times each (seven at home, seven on the road) and Fresno 16 times (eight at home, eight on the road). The Las Vegas Wranglers are expected to join the league in 2003-04.
The 2002-03 season opener is 58 days away with the Bakersfield Condors hosting the reigning Taylor Cup Champion Fresno Falcons at Centennial Garden on Saturday, October 12th.
