Wheat Kings Calm the Hurricanes Friday Night

LETHBRIDGE B.C. - The Brandon Wheat Kings edge the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-1 Friday night.

Thew Wheat Kings start out with a bang. Nolan Ritchie was able to force a turnover inside the Hurricanes zone finding Calder Anderson on the left side circle scoring his 2nd of the year to make it 1-0. The Hurricanes would score at the midway mark of the first with Joe Arntsen firing a shot off the body of Charlie Elick and in to tie it up. Only 3:19 later the Wheat Kings would score off a two on one with Zakhar Polshakov placing a shot on net allowing Nate Danielson to collect the rebound scoring his 4th of the year to restore the one goal lead for the Wheat Kings.

With a 2-1 lead in the third the Wheat Kings would rely on their goaltender Carson Bjarnason who would stop 32 of 33 shots en route to another clutch victory on the road.

The Wheat Kings will close the 8 game roundtrip Saturday night in Medicine Hat when they take on the Tigers. Puck drop at 8:00pm CST from the Co-Op Place in Medicine Hat. Fans can catch the game on Q Country 91.5 starting at 7:45pm PM CST time
