Everett Silvertips News Release
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Americans scored two clutch powerplay goals in the third period as part of a four-goal frame to take a come-from-behind victory from the Everett Silvertips 6-3 at the Toyota Center Friday night.
Deagan McMillan opened the scoring 2:02 into play to give Tri-City an early advantage. Olen Zellweger and Ben Hemmerling would strike by period's end- Zellweger with a fortuitous shot from the blueline at even strength, Hemmerling with a powerplay look for a 2-1 advantage after one. The tally extended Ben Hemmerling's goal streak to three games and Austin Roest's point streak to 10 games.
Parker Bell evened the score with a powerplay redirection 10:44 into the second period, answered in short order by an Everett powerplay goal as an Aidan Sutter shot from the blueline ricocheted in front of the net to be stuffed in by Caden Zaplitny.
With a Ben Hemmerling roughing penalty carrying over into the third period, the Americans pounced on the man advantage once more as Parker Bell tapped in his second of the contest. Once more on the powerplay minutes later, Jake Sloan banged in a rebound at 3:50 to give the Americans a 4-3 lead. Tri-City would pot two more in rapid succession (Ethan Ernst at 5:53 and Elouann Lemmonier at 7:34) for a 6-3 final.
Tomas Suchanek stopped 31 of 34 for the win.
The Silvertips continue their eight-game road stretch with a tour of the East Division next week. Their first stop is in Moose Jaw to battle the Warriors Friday night, with live coverage beginning on KKXA Radio at 5:30 p.m. PT.
Everett returns home Sunday, Nov. 13 to host the Calgary Hitmen. Tickets are available.
