Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - Sunday night soccer is coming your way.
Nashville Soccer Club (4W-5L-6D, 18 pts.) wraps up a two-match week with a clash on the road at Sporting Kansas City (8W-5L-2D, 26 pts.). Sunday's fixture will be the second of four consecutive matches against Western Conference opponents.
The Boys in Gold enter Sunday on a four-match unbeaten run and will look to keep pace in the race for the playoffs, as they currently sit in tenth place in the Eastern Conference. Standing in their way is a Sporting KC team currently in third place in the Western Conference and just four points out of first place.

Familiar Faces - Sunday's match will pit GM Mike Jacobs against his former team. Jacobs was assistant technical director with Sporting KC from 2015 to 2017, capturing two U.S. Open Cups during his tenure.
Jacobs says it will be nice to face his former club, but he doesn't want to distract from his coach and team going on the road to earn points.
"I'm obviously very excited about the opportunity to come back to Kansas City and play there with our own team that we built and worked with here," Jacobs said. "It's very special with all the fond memories from being there. You know, the reality is, I don't play or coach, so I mean, I think it's important to me, it's really a sidebar on the game."
In addition to Jacobs' connections to Sporting KC, Nashville SC chief scout Chance Myers has his own ties to the club. Myers was selected first overall in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting KC (then called the Kansas City Wizards) and played there from 2008 to 2016.
Forwards in the Fold - Nashville SC has seen a few forwards go down with injuries in recent weeks, but Head Coach Gary Smith could see some reinforcements soon.
Forward Abu Danladi returned from injury to make an appearance off the bench in Nashville's scoreless draw with Minnesota United FC on Tuesday. In addition, Smith says Designated Player Jhonder Cádiz is finally with the team and could see action sooner rather than later.
"Jhonder has been part of the group," Smith said. "He looked in a good place. Very pleased to have him around the group. He's been a lift and an inspiration for the other guys to see on the ground and working."
Recover and Regroup - Sunday's match will be the club's second of three matches in the span of eight days. With a condensed schedule down the final stretch of the season, Smith says he is proud of how the team has tried to keep itself healthy in the midst of a grueling run.
"I think everyone's done a fabulous job of trying to offer the best possible recovery for the players," Smith said. "It's not been easy. I'm sure all clubs are dealing with the same issues. We have found ourselves in the midst of some injuries. Fortunately, the core of the group and a lot of the players are still in good shape. They've been able to compete and not just compete, they've put in some fabulous displays."
