FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (5-4-7, 22 pts.) are set to face New York City FC for the third and final time this season on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. The match kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET and will air on NBC Sports Boston, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action. The contest will also air on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Portuguese commentary available on WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.
The sixth-place Revolution, winners of two of their last three away games, are in search of the season's first victory over New York City, having tied once with one defeat through the first two contests. New England leads the all-time series, 6-5-4, against NYCFC, including a 2-3-2 record at Yankee Stadium. In the last meeting on Sept. 19 in Foxborough, the two sides played to a draw as the Revs' defense recorded one of its six clean sheets on the year. Through 16 games, New England has allowed only 13 goals, tied for second fewest in MLS.
Sunday afternoon's match will see midfielder Tommy McNamara make his return to Yankee Stadium, where he played four seasons with New York City FC from 2015-18. The seventh-year pro notched 13 goals and 14 assists in his NYCFC career, and has tallied seven times with eight helpers at Yankee Stadium. New York City native and rookie defender Henry Kessler is poised to make his first hometown appearance at Yankee Stadium. A contender in the MLS Rookie of the Year race, Kessler has appeared in every game for New England's stout defense and leads all 2020 SuperDraft picks in starts, appearances, and minutes played.
