CHARLESTON, WV - West Virginia opens up its July home schedule with a pair of three-game series against the Lexington Legends and the Hagerstown Suns. The Power are 6-6 against the Legends this year and 4-2 against the Hagerstown Suns.

Saturday, July 7: Power vs. Hagerstown Suns: 6:05 p.m.

ABOUT THE LEGENDS: Lexington is 4-7 in the second half. Offensively, they are led by shortstop Cristian Perez. The Venezuelan product has only appeared in 36 games, but he is hitting .323 on the season with 41 hits. He is joined by 19-year-old Seuly Matias, whose power has taken off in 2018. The right fielder has launched a career-high 24 homers in 66 games. Lexington's top arm comes from the bullpen. Through 21 appearances, Andrew Beckwith is 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA. The 32nd-round pick finished June working 16.1 innings across eight games, while punching out 18 batters compared to three walks.

ABOUT THE SUNS: Hagerstown has stumbled out to a 3-8 start in the second half after finishing the first half a Northern Division-worst 27-41. Luis Garcia has the 10th-highest batting average in the South Atlantic League at .299. The infielder boasted a .295 clip with 10 extra-base hits in 25 June games. Brigham Hill has been a welcome surprise in the rotation for the Suns. In three starts, he has twirled 12.1 innings and allowed just three runs. In the righty's most recent outing against the Lakewood BlueClaws, he spun four scoreless innings while surrendering only two hits.

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION: There will be plenty of Independence Day festivities and an extended postgame fireworks show, presented by Highmark West Virginia, for those on-hand for West Virginia's showcase against the Legends. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Taylor Wills will perform pregame during Happy Hour at the Budweiser Dugout Bar, with $1.00 12-ounce drafts available from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WALL OF FAME INDUCTION: Join the Power in inducting former Charleston Gazette investigative reporter Paul Nyden into the Michael C. Paterno Charleston Baseball Wall of Fame during a special pregame ceremony before West Virginia takes on Lexington. This game will also feature Thirsty Thursday specials, courtesy of Rock 105. You can purchase any 12-ounce beverage for $1.00 and 16-ounce domestic cans for $2.00. College students will receive $2.00 off their ticket purchase with a valid student ID at the box office. PIRATES AND PRINCESSES NIGHT: Join us for a night of swashbuckling and royal fun as the Power battles the Lexington Legends at Appalachian Power Park! The first 1,000 fans in the gates will capture a golden baseball giveaway. Come interact with your favorite pirates and princesses on the concourse during the game, including the Snow Queen, the Ice Princess, the Polynesian Princess and DemiGod, Beauty and the Beast, the Arabian Princess, Captain Jack, the Frog Princess, Tinkerbell, Mary Poppins, Snow White, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Rapunzel and Pocahontas. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 6 p.m. Join us for Happy Hour at the Budweiser Dugout behind home plate with a pregame performance from XA the Kid DJ with $1.00 12-ounce drafts until 6:30 p.m.

PURPLE POWER NIGHT: Help West Virginia strike out Pancreatic Cancer. The Power will don their purple jerseys for a 6:05 p.m. showdown with the Hagerstown Suns. Select jerseys will be available at auction to help benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Also, the first 1,000 fans will receive a t-shirt giveaway courtesy of Todd Judy Ford. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Thomas Danley will perform pregame during Happy Hour at the Budweiser Dugout Bar, with $1.00 12-ounce drafts available from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

PBS KIDS DAY: Come on out to Appalachian Power Park for PBS Kids Day, presented by West Virginia Public Broadcasting, with several of your favorite characters roaming throughout the ballpark during the game. Clifford, Curious George, Daniel Tiger and two Super Why kids will be on hand for this special Kidz Sunday Funday. Select players will also be available for autographs after the game and kids 12 and younger can run the bases postgame, presented by SMART529 College Savings Program. Kids are also welcome to play catch in the outfield after gates open at 1 p.m. Kids will receive free admission to Sunday's game with their Kidz Club membership, presented by Sheetz. First pitch is at 2:05 p.m.

FAMILY BUCK NIGHT: Enjoy $1.00 popcorn, soda and hot dogs all night long, along with $3.00 box seats and $1.00 general admission tickets as the Power wraps up their series with the Suns at 7:05 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m. Heavy Hitters will perform pregame during Happy Hour at the Budweiser Dugout Bar, with $1.00 12-ounce drafts available from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
