July 3, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Augusta GreenJackets News Release

North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 2-1 to the Columbia Fireflies on Tuesday night. With 6,026 in attendance, SRP Park has set a new attendance record. This beats the record set on the inaugural night of SRP Park.

The game got off to a quick start with a Matt Winaker home run for Columbia in the top of the first inning. The GreenJackets were quick to answer, as they added one in the bottom of the inning. Manuel Geraldo would score from third base on a passed ball to tie the game at one.

That score would stand until the eighth inning, when Quinn Brodey hit a solo home run off the right field foul pole to give Columbia a 2-1 lead. The GreenJackets would have no answers, as they would go onto to lose the series finale, 2-1.

The Fireflies take the series 3-1 over the GreenJackets. Next for Augusta is seven game road trip, which starts in Charleston and concludes in Rome. First pitch tomorrow in Charleston will be 6:35 pm.
