CHARLESTON, W.V. - Following a quick three-game road swing in Hickory, the West Virginia Power returns home Saturday, July 14, to begin a four-game homestand against the Delmarva Shorebirds. The homestand runs through Tuesday, July 17, with these four games marking the final time West Virginia and Delmarva will face off in 2018. The Power is 2-1 against the Shorebirds after winning two of three at Appalachian Power Park from June 15-17 to end the first half.

SCHEDULE:

Saturday, July 14: Power vs. Delmarva Shorebirds: 6:05 p.m.

Sunday, July 15: Power vs. Delmarva Shorebirds: 2:05 p.m.

Monday, July 16: Power vs. Delmarva Shorebirds: 7:05 p.m.

Tuesday, July 17: Power vs. Delmarva Shorebirds: 12:05 p.m.

ABOUT THE SHOREBIRDS: Delmarva currently sits at 13-8 and in first place in the second half Northern Division standings, 1.5 games up on West Virginia. The Shorebirds are hitting .257 as a team, tied for third-best in the SAL, while their ERA through 88 games is at 3.42, fifth-best in the league. Leading the way for Delmarva offensively is South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star Zach Jarrett, who tops the club with a .299 average and 11 home runs in 84 games, while his 48 RBI sit second-best to Trevor Craport, whose 55 runs batted in are third-best in the SAL. On the mound, RHP Brenan Hanifee has turned in a stellar season with the 'Birds, going 7-3 with a 2.41 ERA, eighth-lowest in the league, in 16 starts, while striking out 63 batters to just 15 walks over 97 innings. LHP DL Hall has been basically untouchable of late, as the 2017 first-round pick has not allowed a run in his last 15.2 innings (five hits), while fanning 18 batters over his last three starts.

RYAN SWITZER NIGHT: The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of local Charleston football hero and Oakland Raiders wide receiver Ryan Switzer, presented by Thomas Health System. Ryan will also make an appearance at Appalachian Power Park, throw out a first pitch and sign autographs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please note that Ryan will only sign pictures provided by his management team. Please do not bring anything of your own for Ryan to sign. It is also Special Olympics Night at the ballpark. Gates open at 5 p.m., and first pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. for the series opener against the Shorebirds.

KIDZ SUNDAY FUNDAY: Select Power players will be available for autographs after the game, and kids 12 and younger can run the bases, presented by SMART529 College Savings Program. Kids are also welcome to play catch in the outfield after gates open at 1 p.m. Kids will receive free admission to Sunday's game with their Kidz Club membership, presented by Sheetz. First pitch is at 2:05 p.m.

GAME SHOW NIGHT: Come on down! You're the next contestant on the West Virginia Power's Game Show Night! Join us at Appalachian Power Park on Monday for fun games and great baseball! It's also Family Buck Night, where all fans can enjoy $1.00 popcorn, soda and hot dogs all night long, along with $3.00 box seats and $1.00 general admission tickets. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Joe Torre card and a pack of baseball cards, courtesy of the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation on Domestic Violence Awareness Night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m, and gates will open at 6 p.m.

SPECIAL TUESDAY START TIME: Enjoy your lunch hour at the ballpark on Tuesday, as West Virginia concludes its season series with the Delmarva Shorebirds with a 12:05 p.m. first pitch. Gates will open at 11 a.m. for this Rock 105 Two for Tuesday, where all fans can enjoy two-for-one sloppy joes and chicken salad sandwiches at the High Heat Grill, as well as 16-ounce domestic beer cans. It's also Kids Day at the Park, so bring the whole family out to enjoy the festivities.
