The Hickory Crawdads have posted a 2-3 record over the past week (Friday, July 6th to Thursday July, 12th).

Last Friday's series finale from Kannapolis was postponed due to weather. It will be made up as part of a double header in Hickory on Wednesday July 8th with the first game beginning at 5pm.

The 'Dads headed to Delmarva next for a three game series against the Shorebirds. The Crawdads fell in the series opener 6-3. Jean Casanova started his first game since May 20th and delivered 3 2/3 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and walking four. Tyreque Reed, Pedro Gonzalez, and Sam Huff each had a double.

On Sunday evening, the 'Dads lost a close game to Delmarva 2-1. Sam Huff and Ryan Dorow had two singles while Yonny Hernandez stole a base for the second consecutive night. Bubba Thompson drove in the 'Dads run with a sacrifice fly that scored Hernandez.

The Crawdads won 5-1 on Monday night behind a masterful start by Tyler Phillips. Phillips delivered seven innings, giving up three hits, one run, and a walk. He struck out eleven Shorebirds and picked up his sixth win of the season. Miguel Aparicio and Ryan Dorow had three hits, with Dorow coming a double shy of the cycle. The 'Dads bats had fourteen hits on the night.

After an off day on Tuesday, the 'Dads bats stayed hot on Wednesday as they returned to the Frans, beating the West Virginia Power 9-3. Tyreque Reed and Preston Scott each collected three hits. Bubba Thompson hit a booming three-run homerun off the left field light pole that sealed the victory for the Crawdads. Noah Bremer had a quality start for the 'Dads, pitching six innings, allowing three runs and striking out five. He earned his fifth win of the season after Joe Barlow and Joe Kuzia shut down the Power with three scoreless frames.

Last night the 'Dads fell to the Power 8-2. Reid Anderson pitched 1 2/3 innings, giving up two runs (only one earned) before a storm came through the area and the game entered a two hour delay. Bubba Thompson stole two bases to bring his season total to fifteen. Ryan Dorow also hit his team-leading tenth homerun of the season.

The Crawdads will wrap up their three game homestand tonight (Friday night) with a 7pm game. It will be the 'Dads Halloween game and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free tee shirt. The night will conclude with a fireworks show.
