North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 3-2 to the Lexington Legends on Friday night.

The Legends got out to a quick start, with an early 3-0 lead after two innings. The GreenJackets would slowly make their way back into the ballgame. In the fourth inning, Manuel Geraldo would knock in Rob Calabrese from third base with a single to left field. Then in the fifth inning, Trevor Abrams would double into left field corner to score Geraldo from second base. The GreenJackets would have opportunities in the final four innings to tie the game, but came up short in the end.

The bullpen for the GreenJackets had another nice outing at SRP Park. After Garrett Cave was pulled after four innings,Tyler Schimpf, JJ Santa Cruz, and John Timmins would combine to throw the final five innings. They would not give up any runs and combined to only allow four hits to the Legends for the remainder of the ballgame.

The GreenJackets have now won their second consecutive series as they welcome the Rome Braves to town for a four game set. First pitch tomorrow against the Braves will be at 6:05 pm at SRP Park.

Tomorrow is Shark Week Appreciation Night, followed by a fireworks show after the game!
