ABOUT LAST GAME: Tony Dibrell tossed six strong innings for Columbia but the Fireflies stumbled to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Suns. Dibrell - making his 15th start - struck out six and surrendered just one earned run. The righty did not walk a single batter for the first time all season.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: With a victory on Friday, Columbia wins the series vs. Hagerstown. Columbia's last series win was from June 30-July 3 when the Fireflies took three of four from Augusta (at SRP Park).

BT CRUISER: Blake Tiberi's road trip is off to a sizzling start. The former Louisville Cardinals infielder slashed two more hits on Thursday - including a double - and now has five hits in the first two games of the series against Hagerstown. Tiberi has hit safely in three straight games.

PROMOTED: Raphael Gladu is the most recent Firefly to receive a promotion to advanced-A St. Lucie. The 23-year-old certainly left his mark in Columbia:

- Went on 28-game on-base streak (May 2-June 9)

- Posted longest hitting streak in club history (23 games)

- Played in 71 games: .275 BA, 13 2B, 25 RBI, 12 SB

BATTER UP: So who fills Gladu's spot? Former Texas Tech slugger Zach Rheams earned a promotion from advanced-rookie Kingsport (Appalachian League) to Columbia on July 11. In his first start on Thursday, the Mets' 2018 draft choice (27th round) doubled in his first at-bat and also walked later in the game at Municipal Stadium.

LITTLE EXTRA IN HUB CITY: The Fireflies produced seven extra-base hits on Wednesday, which nearly tied a franchise record. Columbia set the team record (8) on June 2, 2017 at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown.

BOLD STRATEGY, LET'S SEE IF IT PAYS OFF: The Fireflies lead the league in walks drawn (291) and have struck out (627) the fewest times.

THE FUTURE: Andres Gimenez was selected to join the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Nationals Park on July 15. The former Firefly will play for the World Team in a game that features the top minor league prospects. Gimenez is currently listed as the Mets no. 1 prospect, according to MLB.com. Here's what the 19-year-old did with Columbia in 2017:

- .265 average, 9 doubles, 4 home runs, 14 stolen bases (92 games)
